TO JULIE (2)

A place to sit and think about my life and stuff like that
Is all I want to do at times when I don’t feel like a chat;
A corner with a view of trees and grass, perhaps some flowers,
It really doesn’t matter if there’s sun or April showers.
It’s then my mind is quite at rest, working in a special way
And I can see the purpose of my life and beauty in each day
So, when the hurly-burly of each day’s work is ended
I’ll find that little corner place all serene and carefully tended
Where the many wondrous thoughts in my special quiet, corner seat
Will mingle with the thoughts of loved ones as they meet and greet.
