I’m sure you’re looking for the day
When you will enjoy a get-a-way
To sailing on Orford’s ocean brine
With the kids and Caroline.
But such pleasures will have to wait
Upon pressing affairs of State
Where diktats are pushed out a-pace
For the waiting populace –
Though bear in mind, awards await
For a good job, from grateful State
You’ll one day hear, as in a dream
‘Arise, Sir Patrick,’ from the Queen.
