When Suzy was small, I wondered then
\nHow long it would be, before she was ten;
\nI should have asked her to calculate –
\nSo easy – June twenty nine, two thousand and eight,
\nA special date that’s to be sure,
\nIt needs to be special to do justice and more
\nTo a girl who can paint, draw and swim
\nAnd in her guides uniform looks so trim;
\nAs a trumpet player she gets better each day
\nSince practice makes perfect, or so they say;
\nAs a swimmer she’s up with the best
\nShe’ll try every stroke and pass every test.
\nSo easy she finds doing long division
\nSoon she’ll be studying nuclear fission.
\nShe helps in the house and likes having fun,
\nOf all things she does, I’ve only begun
\nSo it’s easier to list all the things she can’t do
\nBecause that list will include only a few.
\nSuzy fills every day with work and play
\nBut this day of day, Omalein and Grumps
\nWish you a happy birthday and ten soft bumps.<\/p>\n
