When the World is in a mess
\nEvents all around not going well
\nParliamentarians in distress
\nGone home to face their private hell<\/p>\n
There can be another side
\nIn every situation
\nWith the turning of the tide
\nComes a different interpretation.<\/p>\n
What care you, the clasp and grasp of class,
\nOr of lives led to deceive the World?
\nOnly the values that never pass
\nAre worth getting life’s flag unfurled.<\/p>\n
The foundations are dug deep
\nProsaic they may seem
\nBut secure, the edifice to keep
\nAnd the effort to redeem.<\/p>\n
Compared to lofty palaces
\nAnd their glittering display
\nWhere searching for solid bases
\nAre denied when built on clay.<\/p>\n
One may dream one’s thoughts
\nFrom day to day or with grand sweep,
\nBut life is building solidly each day
\nTowards a distant goal
\nWhere all is understandable
\nIf bitter sweet.<\/p>\n
And when it’s time to rest
\nThe thoughts that can be trailed
\nAre, I have done my best
\nAnd that it has prevailed.<\/p>\n
