Pieces of us, yes us
\nWere cosmic dust
\nMillennia ago
\nUntil a unicellular scrap
\nIn a carbon wrap
\nChanged forever what we know.
\nWhat followed were sentient creatures
\nFrom a chemical formula made. A trend
\nThat led to a content with features
\nWith a form that has no end;
\nA developed belief function that can make things true
\nBut encased in so many points of view,
\nMore than can be confined
\nIn one sentient creature’s mind.<\/p>\n
So all I can do is to stick with one
\nThat the beautiful thoughts I have of you
\nAre real, enduring and ever true.
\nAnd what the cosmic dust has changed
\nWhen stirred into the great above,
\nThe linking of earth and heaven arranged
\nBy mingling, to create an eternal love.
\nA formula that time will test
\nTo validate, or not, our celestial rest.<\/p>\n
