After so long a time, how does it feel?
\nAfter so many tears, when will it heal?
\nThe chair you sat on is always there
\nThe thoughts I have of you are ever near.
\nThe wide World I once loved, but now confess
\nHas become a refuge for my loneliness.
\nThe many chores you daily did to keep
\nThe household safe and clean and neat
\nAre done by me, ever more aware of what
\nThe effort meant and means, a service given
\nWhen now each lonely task is driven
\nBy a sense that self-service does not satisfy.
\nI feel just half a one when on the street
\nThe people that we knew and now I meet.
\n‘How is Ursula?’ One time they would ask;
\nHow indeed! To settle that is now my only task.<\/p>\n
