When we act collectively
\nWe sacrifice some of our humanity.<\/p>\n

When we see only ‘me.’
\nIgnoring collectivity
\nWe surrender our responsibility.<\/p>\n

So pause….<\/p>\n

Knowing this, how can it be
\nWe are able to defend our liberty?<\/p>\n

Because….<\/p>\n

We need to fight for liberty each day
\nTo earn the necessary grain of grace;
\nWithout this fight there is no other way
\nTo keep from stamping on your brothers’ face.<\/p>\n

Come wars….<\/p>\n

And when the fear to harm
\nIs tipped the other way,
\nWith violence there to charm,
\nWhat can a moralist say?<\/p>\n
