Dare to challenge the status quo
Change the gear and on we go –
Find enough people to agree
That how we do things can be
Seen afresh through a new prism –
With yeast, the dough has risen,
Though the present may be exempt,
Times inertia still unkempt
By the changes you dare profess
Might seem bereft of progress
Yet the orthodoxy held
Still has the open mind quelled
And the images we could raise
Are baulked in so many ways
That the lambent patterns we form
Seem discarded and forlorn.
Create new changes, form a trend
Put bigotry to an end
‘Til we can see the rising sun
Out there on the horizon
And so, the avant garde may grow
And so it’s change, and on we go……
